by Runecrafting is a skill which allows users to create runes which are used to cast spells.
Required Quests:
Before beginning the Runecrafting skill a player must first complete Rune Mysteries. This is a short quest which requires the player to help identify a strange object alongside the wizards at the Wizard’s Tower. The item turns out to be an air talisman, one of many OSRS items for sale on the Grand Exchange which can be purchased with OSRS gold.
Recommended Quests:
After completion of Rune Mysteries, it is recommended that the player complete the following quests before beginning the actual training of the Runecrafting skill:
Enter the Abyss: grants 1000 experience and unlocks the ability to repair essence pouches
The Eyes of Glouphrie: grants 6,000 experience
Lunar Diplomacy: although this particular quest requires high levels and several quests to be completed prior it beginning, its completion grants 5,000 Runecrafting experience and unlocks the Lunar Spellbook which contains several spells which aid in very fast training methods.
Training Runecrafting:
Talisman Tiaras: Players can create talisman tiaras from the very beginning of the Runecrafting skill right up until level 50. Making talisman tiaras requires no prerequisites including skill level. However, the method requires that the player have a lot of OSRS gold because the OSRS items for sale which are needed to create the tiaras are very expensive.
Lava Runes: When level 23 is reached players can begin to craft Lava runes. This method utilizes the Lunar Spellbook and is the fastest Runecrafting method (note: 82 magic is required to use this technique.). The recommended items while utilizing this method are: tiara, best weight-reducing equipment, rune pouch, Tome of Fire, Mist Battlestaff, Binding necklace, Ring of Dueling (some of these items are expensive and require a lot of OSRS gold). These items together offer the optimal amount of possible inventory space combined with the optimal type of runes needed for crafting Lava runes). After acquiring the equipment, the player should use their ring of dueling to teleport close to the Fire Altar and after crafting teleport to Castle Wars where they can bank their runes.
Ourania Altar: The Ourania Altar is located in the Ourania Cave which is south of West Ardougne and requires Lunar Diplomacy to be reached via teleport (the ability to use the teleport is vital for this method). A Magic level of 71 is recommended as it will allow the player to repair essence pouches using the NPC Contact spell. The Ourania Altar does not require a specific Runecrafting level to use and when used converts essence into a random assortment of runes based on the players Runecrafting level. When inside the cave the player is required to run past monsters before reaching the altar, a map of the dungeon can be found here. Some recommended items when using this method include: weight-reducing equipment, armor, Dust Battlestaff, Rune Pouch, stamina potions, Ring of Endurance. This method, when combined with a relatively high Runecrafting level, can make users up to half a million OSRS gold per hour. Blood And Soul Runes (Arceuus): When a player reaches level 77 the user unlocks the ability to craft Blood runes. If using this method, a player is required to have 100% Arceuus favor and recommended to have at least 73 Agility but preferably 78. Required equipment for this method are: chisel, pickaxe, full Graceful Outfit (recommended but not required). This method utilizes both the Mining and Crafting skills and is a viable method for training both while also training Runecrafting. A player must first mine essence in the Arceuus mine and then use the inventory on the Dark Altar. After creating dark essence blocks, the player should run back to the mine while using the chisel on the blocks to create dark essence fragments. The user should then mine another complete inventory of blocks, bless them on the altar, head to the Runecrafting Blood Altar and then bless the first inventory of fragments. After, the user should chisel the second inventory into fragments and craft at the altar again. When level 90 is reached, a player can use the same method to create Soul runes.
